Explore...Everything Greek! on Monday, August 4th at 1pm
Join Miss Colleen and Miss Maryann for an hour and a half of database exploration.  We will be looking up exciting information about our Summer Theme.  Grades 3-5.
Online registration begins Monday, July 21.

Invention Challenge III: Mystery Edition on Tuesday, August 5 at 4pm (CR)
In this top secret edition of Invention Challenge, participants will only discover what to build (and the materials available!) when the clock starts. This is a kids-only timed build session; parents may enter the room when devices are tested. All participants must be able to complete the challenge without assistance.
Please arrive on time as space is limited.

Recycled Sculpture on Wednesday, August 6 at 1pm (SC)
Join artist Art Lee and create a work of art out of recycled objects. 1st grade and up.

Princeton Plasma Physics Lab Visit on Tuesday, August 12 at 1pm or 3pm
Discover the wonders of plasma physics and nuclear fusion at this world-renowned facility right here in Plainsboro! Please be prompt and arrive on the Forrestal Campus at 12:45 and 2:45 p.m. respectively. Sign-up sheets, directions and important instructions for all visitors available at the Children’s Desk beginning Monday, July 21.
For adults and kids in Grades 3 & up.

Summer Odyssey: New Jersey State House, Museum and Planetarium on Wednesday, August 13 at 10am
Join us on a bus trip to Trenton for a guided tour of the New Jersey State House — learn about democracy in New Jersey.  Then enjoy your picnic lunch next door at the New Jersey State Museum (outside, weather permitting.)   Take a quick tour of the Museum’s many exhibits before soaring into the galaxy to encounter “Black Holes” in the Planetarium! Please see separate flyer for further details.
Tickets are $5.00 and may be purchased at the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor beginning Wednesday, July 23.
For adults and kids in 1st grade & up.  Kids 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. 

Princeton University Art Museum Visit: Myths & Stories in Art on Friday, August 15 at 11am
Meet Miss Julie at the museum and take this free tour for kids in K-3rd grade. Throughout history artists have been inspired by myths and stories. Listen to tales as you look at paintings and sculpture from various cultures.
Online registration begins Friday, August 1.

Summer Reading Book Club Too! on Monday, August 18 at 6pm (ST)
Join Miss Colleen and read several selections from the K-3 Summer Reading List. Kids may read aloud if they like, but, are not required to do so.
Online registration begins Monday, August 4.

Discover Ancient Greece: Mythical Mayhem Past and Present (SC)

Session 1:  Tuesday & Thursday, August 19 & 21 at 4 pm
Session 2:  Tuesday & Thursday, August 26 & 28  at 4pm

Exploring ancient history with Miss Liv through myths, legends and fun activities. Grades 3-4.

Starlab: Greek Myths in the Stars on Wednesday, August 20 at
4:00 or 4:30 pm for Grades K-2 with an adult and
5:00 pm for Grades 3 & up (CR)
Get ready to crawl into the library’s very own inflatable planetarium with Miss Meaghan and Miss Julie to explore the Greek Gods, Goddesses and mythical creatures that we can find in the stars!
Sign up at the Children’s Desk beginning Monday, August 11. 

Back-to-School Storytime on Friday, August 22 or August 29 at 10:30 am (ST) Nervous about starting school next month? Don’t be! Join Miss Meaghan for an hour of stories and fun to ease those first-day jitters! For children entering K-1.

Sunday Book Group on August 24 at 1pm (ST)
This month we will read Rump: The True Story of Rumpelstiltskin by Liesl Shurtliff.  Please read the book before we meet and bring your copy along!  Limited copies will be available at the Reference Desk in August. Grades 4 and up.
Online registration begins Sunday, August 3. 

Summer Reading Book Club on Mondays, July 7-August 11 at 6pm (ST) Join Miss Colleen and read one of the books from your Summer Reading List, One Dog and His Boy, by Eva Ibbotson. You do not have to bring your own copy, but if you have one feel free to! We will be reading aloud and discussing the book. Grades 4-5.

B&C Book Club on Thursday, August 28 at 7pm (SC)
Join Meaghan for a discussion of this month’s dystopian thriller, The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. Please read the book prior to our meeting; limited copies are available at the Reference Desk. Grades 6 & up.
